Clearly B.V. ("Clearly", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies on clearly.eu and our other country sites. This page explains what they are, which ones we use, what they do and how you decide. Last updated: 25 September 2026.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies are local storage (data a script keeps in your browser) and pixels (small scripts that report a page view or a purchase to a service). On this page we call all of them "cookies".

Some cookies are ours (first party). Others are set by services we use, such as an analytics or advertising provider (third party). A third party may combine what it learns on our site with data from other sites. How each provider handles your data is described in its own privacy policy, linked below.

Your choice

On your first visit a banner asks what you allow. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are equal choices, and "Manage preferences" lets you decide per category. Until you choose, only necessary cookies are set. Your choice also applies in the checkout.

You can change your mind at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. We remember your choice for one year. When we change this page in a way that affects your choice, we ask you again.

Rejecting cookies never limits what you can buy or do on our site.

Necessary cookies

These make the shop work: your cart, the checkout, the country and currency you shop in, protection against abuse, and remembering that you answered the cookie banner. They are set without consent, because the site does not work without them.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
_shopify_essential Shopify Session and checkout information, protection against tampering 1 year
_tracking_consent Shopify Stores your cookie choice 1 year
_shopify_y, _shopify_s, _shopify_analytics, _shopify_marketing Shopify Shopify's visitor and marketing cookies. Shopify sets them on every visit, but they only carry analytics or marketing data after you allow that category; before that they are empty shells. 30 minutes (_shopify_s) to 1 year
cart, cart_currency, cart_sig, cart_ts Shopify Your cart, its currency and a check that nobody tampered with it 2 weeks
localization Shopify The country of your cart 1 year
_secure_session_id, keep_alive, secure_customer_sig, shopify_pay Shopify Your session in the checkout, your account and Shop Pay Session to 1 year
session Clearly Your session on our site, for example a message after a form Session
cl_consent_v Clearly Remembers that you answered the current version of the banner 1 year
cl_country Clearly The country you chose on clearly.eu 1 year
cl_exp Clearly Keeps the version of a page you were shown the same on later visits; we sometimes compare two layouts. It holds no personal data. 90 days

The checkout, which runs on a Shopify address such as checkout.clearly.eu, sets its own session cookies for the duration of your order.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, these tell us how the site is used: which pages are visited, where visitors come from, what works and what does not. We use this to improve the shop. Without your consent nothing is measured and none of these services load, except that Shopify measures page speed without cookies.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
_shopify_analytics, _shopify_y, _shopify_s Shopify Shopify's own visitor statistics: sessions, pages and the site you came from. The cookies exist before your choice (see above) but only hold this data with your consent. Shopify cookie policy 30 minutes to 1 year
_ga, _ga_<id> Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) Visitor statistics and reports on how the site is used. Google privacy policy 2 years
ph_<id>_posthog (also in local storage) PostHog (PostHog Inc., EU cloud) Which pages you view and what you click, and, if you buy, linking the purchase to the visit. Data is stored in the European Union. PostHog privacy policy 1 year

Marketing cookies

With your consent, these let us measure whether our advertisements work and show you relevant ads on other platforms. The advertising platforms may combine this data with what they already know about you; their policies explain how. Without your consent none of these services load and none of their cookies are set.

Cookie Set by Purpose Duration
_fbp, _fbc Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) Measuring and targeting ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta privacy policy 3 months
_ttp, _tt_enable_cookie TikTok (TikTok Technology Ltd) Measuring and targeting ads on TikTok. TikTok privacy policy 13 months
_gcl_au, IDE Google Ads (Google Ireland Ltd) Measuring conversions from Google ads and showing relevant ads. How Google uses cookies in advertising 3 months (_gcl_au), 13 months (IDE)
__kla_id Klaviyo (Klaviyo Inc.) Recognises you on the site and links your visit to the emails we send you, so you only receive relevant mail. Klaviyo privacy notice 2 years
_shopify_marketing Shopify Shopify's own marketing data for the storefront and checkout; the cookie exists before your choice but only holds this data with your consent 1 year
Local storage (no cookie) Triple Whale (Triple Whale Inc.) Attribution: which advertisement or channel led to a visit or purchase. Triple Whale privacy policy Until you withdraw your consent or clear your browser
_tb_link_decoration_params (local storage, no cookie) Trackbee Remembers the campaign parameters and click id of the link you arrived through and passes them to the checkout, so a purchase can be reported to the advertising platform Until you withdraw your consent or clear your browser

When you withdraw your consent for marketing, we stop these services on the next page you open and remove what Triple Whale and Trackbee stored in your browser. Cookies that a third party set on its own domain can be removed in your browser settings.

Preference cookies

Preference cookies remember choices you make during your visit, such as settings, to personalise the shop. At the moment we set none beyond the necessary cookies listed above. If we add one, this page will list it and the banner will ask you first.

Data outside the European Union

Meta, TikTok, Google, Klaviyo and Triple Whale are based in or process data in the United States. They do so under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. PostHog stores our data on servers in the European Union. Shopify processes data in the European Union and, where needed, in Canada and the United States under the same safeguards.

Cookies in your browser

You can also delete cookies or block them in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies means the cart and checkout will not work.

Questions

Questions about cookies or your data? Email contact@clearly.eu or use the contact form. Your rights over your data and how to use them are explained on our privacy rights page; what we collect and why is in our privacy policy.
